note: this is going to be a bit boring, if you are not interested in Hana and her preschool progress :) (please feel free to skip this if you want)
I had my first parent-teacher conference today being on the "parent-end". It went really well :) She is growing up!!
I got a progress report that had about 40 different areas that they should have accomplished by the end of the year (and it is only January!). Out of those 40 Hana had accomplished all but 4 of them! They are things like "learning control over emotions", "answers questions about story as it is read", "uses language to communicate wants and ideas", "manipulates various art media correctly", "runs", "jumps", "put toys away correctly", and other academic areas. She was accomplished in all but one of the academic areas which were things like "recognizes colors" "beginning to recognize letter symbols", "rote counting", "identifies basic shapes" etc etc. The teacher said that she was "blown away" by the way Hana knew her letters (on the paper it showed that Hana knew about 1/2 of the letters and I was thinking "but she knows ALL of them!!"Maybe my standards are a bit higher than I thought ;). She said that she was above the rest of the class in academics. She also said that she was a very sweet child who loves hugs and that she listens and follows directions. She said that Hana was doing A LOT better with learning to play and share with others (one of the 4 areas that she needs to practice more!). The teacher said that she had made a lot of progress from November in that area.
All in all I felt that it went really well and that the preschool is a great fit for Hana!!!
I left and went to Moms group where Emily asked if I had the smartest kid in class... I said "kind of"...
I just had to share these, oh so sweet and innocent, sleeping pictures of Hana :)
