brooke potty time

today is the day that we are trying to let brooke tackle potty time. while, she will not be 2 until march, she has always been very interested in going to the potty. so today we did it. jack graciously took hana to the aquarium so that brooke and i could have some alone time to work on using the potty. brooke sat and watched "elmo's potty time" in it's entirety (45 mins) on the potty and nothing. i filled her up with juice and... nothing. she kept complaining about her leg hurting (i guess it was falling asleep) so i told her to stand up. what does she do??? pee on the floor (i was prepared for this and i put a shower curtain liner on the floor... so no problem!) we started the movie again. during the course of the 45 min movie she peed in the potty 7-8 times! she did still have several accidents on the floor. but since she is so young i think it will take a little bit for her to fully understand what is supposed to happen. in the beginning she would pee on the floor and show no response. but by the end she was sitting on the potty and said "again' and she peed again. so it is coming, it will just take awhile. i am planning to work on it some more this afternoon :)
