Madeline turns 3!!

It is so hard to believe Madeline is 3! I always thought the summer would be a great time to have a birthday... the parties would be so easy! Well, that may be true if you have them at the beach or the pool, any where else is just too hot! So, we had the party at the beach! It was such a fun party! Lots of fun friends and a day at the beach!! What could be better? :)

Family vaca!!

We booked this family vacation to be right before school started. At that time we didn't know that the girls would be getting into year round... so we had to take them out of school for a couple of days. Oh well!!

We had a great trip!! But our trip didn't get off to a great start... the DAY before we left, Brooke fell and hit her face on the side table needing 3 stitches. The very hard part was that she could not put her face under the water! That makes a trip to the place the girls call "the place with a lot of pools" a little tricky!!

But we were still able to have a great time! It was one of our best family vacations!

They had a miniature golf course at the hotel

We went to a museum close by

We walked on the beach and collected shells

We spent most of one of the days at the aquarium. They have a very impressive tank with a moving sidewalk running through it. It looks like you are swimming with the sharks. The only bad things was that it gave me vertigo again!

We had a yummy lunch at the Nacho Hippo!

We went back to the aquarium for a mermaid "show"

Brooked LOVED the mermaid and wanted her to be her friend!

We went to build a bear and let the girls each pick out a stuffed animal to make.

Madeline's "addie bear" is still one of her favs!

We got doughnuts!

One of the highlights from the trip... the girls getting to each touch a sting ray!

It was a wonderful trip!! It is always sad when they come to an end!

Back to school

I know it seems unusual to start school in the middle of the summer. But not when you are going to a year round school! We were excited for our girls to get in. It is a great school!! I am not sure about the schedule, but we are glad to do it for the girls to be able to go to a great school!!

Hana had her first day on Tuesday

We met friends for an after school treat

Brooke's first day was Wednesday :) Her first day of Kindergarden!! I don't know if it is harder or easier to do it for the second time!

A trip to the lake

Right before the girls head back to school, we got to spend a couple of days camping with my parents at the lake. It is always a good time! We boat, swim, make fires, ride bikes... and just have fun!!

Normally our neighborhood has a very impressive fireworks display. We were sad to learn that the people responsible for them were moving and didn't have them this year. So, we had another plan. We went to Carolina Beach to enjoy their display! I do always love fireworks!!

Pre-fireworks "rock" game... they can make a game out of anything!!
