it all began sunday when jack went swimming with his phone. we tried to dry it out, but it was useless... the phone was gone.

then monday i went to cvs to pick up prescriptions for brooke (after her 3 year check up she was given LOTS of medicine to try to help her eczema). when turning into the drive through lane to get the meds, i scratched and dented my (NEW!) van on the large yellow cement post...

then (still monday) after putting the 2 younger girls down for their naps, emily called me and asked me to pick her up because while on the way to the beach their radiator exploded. after loading them up, we were heading home when a guy on a motorcycle pulled up beside us and told me that my brakes were smoking. i didn't really know what to do, so we drove the rest of the way to emily's house. when we opened the doors we saw and smelled the smoke. i figured i would be able to make it home since i didn't live that far away. i made it about a mile down the road when i realized that i was not able to drive. the brakes were engaged the whole time and were slowing me down even when i pressed the gas.
jack came and got me (luckily i caught him at work because he didn't have a cell phone). he then waited for the tow truck... rest of the story short. $700 to fix the brakes. they replaced the pads, calipers and roters.
most of tuesday week was spent trying to get a new phone and get the van back.
then wednesday when i tried to plug in my printer cord to the usb port, it would not go in. after some inspecting, we saw both usb ports had broken. jack called acer and they said they would fix it, but we will have to ship it to them and it could take 2/3 weeks to get it fixed (and if the deemed it "user error", we would have to pay for it). there is no way i could go that long with out a computer (not just for personal things... but i can't do any photography without my computer). jack was able to fix one of them and we bought a usb splitter so we can still plug things in. we are weighing our options to see when/ how we want to fix it.
lastly thursday, we got the letter in the mail that hana did not get into the year round school that we were hoping she would.
but to wrap all of that up... it was a crazy week! but most things are fixed now. we were disappointed because we wanted to put the $700 on debt... not in to the brakes of our car. but we are thankful that we had the money to fix it. sigh... just when you think things are going well... you have a collision!
