Weekend out of town

Well this was a weekend of travel. We drove to Greensboro Friday and spent the night. Saturday, leaving the girls, Jack and I drove to Charlotte for a friend's wedding.
It was a great, and much needed, time for Jack and I to have some alone time.

Meanwhile, back in Greensboro Nana and Poppy took the girls out to a BBQ festival for some entertainment. They saw pigs, puppies, and horses (which Hana thought she might want to ride, but changed her mind) Here is a picture of Hana getting ready to not ride the horse.

And here she is riding the swings :)

And apparently she ate some chocolate covered pretzels.

Sounds like a good time was had by all.

Brooke and Hana

Brooke

Here is what is new in Brooke's life.
She is getting better with sitting up. A few pictures so you can see. She is not totally stable but she is getting better.

She still loves to suck on her two front fingers. She has also gotten good at spitting and blowing raspberries. She is starting to make constant sounds.
She also loves to scratch on things with texture. We were taking a walk one evening and heard this strange sound, it took us forever to figure out that she was scratching the inside on the stroller. She also likes to scratch on jeans or the couch. Go figure :)
Here she is caught in the act

And she HAS to be teething she still drools all of the time and she chews on everything. I thought the same thing about Hana at this age and she didn't get a tooth until 11 months! So who knows.
She is still happy and smiley most of the time (we thank the Lord for that- He knew that we did not need two "high maintenance" babies!)
Hana

We have been working on her letters and sounds. She knows about half of them! I feel like she is doing some "real" learning now. She is still her "Hana" self as you can see from the videos! She loves to have your attention! If you ask her what she is doing she will either say "Notin" or "Just hangin out". She did lock herself in our bedroom for a few minutes this week... she defiantly keeps me on my toes! Only for a few minutes and then SHE unlocked the door and let herself out! She can be a big sweetheart and gives some great hugs! She loves her little sister very much (sometimes a little too hard)!

These pictures are a couple of weeks old but they really capture her spirit.

We have been blessed with two wonderful girls!!

This and That

Not too much new in the life of the Cornwalls today. The only thing we did was go and get the girls their flu shots. Always fun ;) This was the first time that Hana had gotten one when she was old enough to know what was really happening. She did not really care for it! She got stickers at the Dr and a popsicle when she got home so that made it all better. They were both good sports considering the fact that the nurse was sticking a big needle in their leg. Anyway...

Here is a video of Hana singing "Jesus Loves Me" to Brooke.
We got this early this morning, hence the jamas (as Hana calls them).

One new thing, yesterday I went to look at preschools for the girls and for me to teach in next year. I found one that I really liked. They actually have an opening for a 2 year old (which I have) now in their Tuesday/ Thursday class. I think it would be beneficial for both Hana AND ME. So now I am just praying that it will work out. They also asked me if I would be interested in substituting some. I told them that I would if I could. If Hana could get into the class then I could sub on Thursdays and Emily would watch Brooke. So we will see how everything works out. I will keep you up to date!! I just wanted to share!

Our weekly park trips

Since I am now a blogger;) I thought I would give you a glimpse into some of our weekly activities. Twice a week we walk at the park. There are several moms who meet us to walk Emily with Noah, Monica with Josh and George, and KJ with Grace and Sammie.
Here are the girls before we head out in our double jogging stroller- what does this one say about us Court?

It was actually chilly that morning!

Here is Brooke after our strenuous walk. This is where she takes most of her morning naps :)

We usually play for a while after our walks. Good way to play off some steam!

Just a note :) Hana is doing pretty well with her potty training. We had some regression last week. But she seems to be back on track lately. We defiantly have our good days and our bad days. I know that in the long run it will all work itself out!

Hana sings itsy bitsy spider

This is a couple of weeks old but it is too cute not to share :)

Saturday in Hampstead

Tommy turned 30 (not looking forward to that in April!!) so we all made the trek to Hampstead for the festivities!. The pork was plentiful and so was the sun (I mean it is October but who can tell??!!). A good time was had by all. We got to spend some time with fellow Cornwalls and meet Katie's boy. We also got to catch up with the lovable Cooper. Cooper seemed happy and sweet as always. I know that with all of the running around that we do with two kids, it is nice that he has a loving home :)

Rock-star Brooke got to spend some quality time with her Aunt Katie.

Yes, Hana is sitting on an old Keg converted into a stool.

Here are all of the Cornwalls in between several red cars-
I guess that State red runs deeper than we think :)

And here is the after party :)

Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

On Friday we decided to take a trip to the local pumpkin patch (not so much of a patch but more of a church lawn filled with pumpkins). It was fun for all :)

Hana looked very cool and grown up in her shades.

There was even a photo opt for the two sisters.

Hana loved seeing all of the pumpkins and we even brought a few home to paint, which was fun and a bit messy. I guess that is what fall days are for!!
