halloween take 1

UNCW had a halloween carnival last night. why not dress up the kids and head over?? it was a little weird to be back on campus- so much has changed! i did feel a little old, but *sigh* i guess we are... anyway, i digress. so after a super quick dinner we headed over. it was very packed, but the kids got to play some games and get some good candy. we also ran into some good friends ;)

it was so cute, once we got home and had put brooke to bed, hana was looking through her candy. for ever piece that she had two, she gave brooke one. she was so happy to share her candy (she totally did not get this from me- i would have been hoarding all of my favorites!)
it was a fun time of dress up and a dry run for saturday night :)

our church

we had a pretty amazing service on sunday at port city. it was our 10 year anniversary (although we have only been going for about 2.5 years...) it was amazing and very moving. two friends of mine share it better than i ever could. read ashley's account which links you to hilary's. pretty amazing stuff that God can do if you let him.

brooke-isms

we have had hana-isms for quite a while, since hana could talk really. so it was only a matter of time that brooke added her own.

• i moved madeline's swing to another part of the den. hana asked me why and i told her that when it was christmas we would want to put the christmas tree where her swing was, so i thought i would try it a little early to see if i liked it there. brooke got very excited and said "when it is christmas, i am going to give christmas a hug!" awwwww brookie :)
  
• once we got home from mom's group this morning i was getting the 2 little ones out of the car. brooke was taking her sweet time getting out, so i asked her in a "forceful" voice to "please get out of the car quickly." she looked at me and said "i love you too momma". ouch, way to make me feel horrible brooke!

pumpkin carving time

we go to the pumpkin patch every year. we even each get to select a pumpkin. but we buy the tiny ones... the dollar pumpkins. due to the size selections, we have never ever carved pumpkins. now my mom may beg to differ, but i really don't ever remember carving a pumpkin. since we have never carved one and are not really sure how to carve... we had to watch an online video.
we were very surprised when our sweet neighbor (calling herself the "pumpkin fairy") brought us 5 large pumpkins. as to not seem ungrateful, we HAD to carve them. so carve them we did!!

maternity clothes

ok this is totally shameless but i am doing it anyway :) i am getting rid of all of my maternity clothes (no more babies for us!!). so if you are interested in any of them, they are listed on ebay :)

pumpkins!

this afternoon we made our annual trip (to see last year's trip) to the pumpkin patch (not so much of a patch as a bunch of pumpkins in the front yard of a church, but we take what we can get!). to me it represents the introduction to the fall season. we were going to go yesterday, but it was like 89 degrees and i did not want to sweat picking out our pumpkins. so we postponed it to today. the weather was perfect, in the upper 60s... great pumpkin weather! that is about all i can commentate, the rest is pictures. be prepared for pumpkin picture overload. (what can i say... i love it!)

i will leave you with a hana-ism. we are constantly using hand sanitizer to ward of scary germs in our house. hana asked what it was called. we answered and she "repeated" hana-tizer. nice, maybe the world does revolve around her :)

brooke v/s madeline

brooke and madeline look very much alike... or at least I think they do. i thought i would put up some pictures of brooke about the same age and see what others thought (especially the first one of madeline and the second one of brooke). let me add that after looking at the pictures i am even more convinced that they look alike. but the madeline in real life looks more like the pictures of brooke than the actual pictures of her do.

madeline 6 weeks

it is hard to believe that madeline is 6 weeks old today! she is starting to coo just a little. she is also awake a little bit more, but other than that not too much new. she is still sleeping well and we have moved her into her own room (still in the bassinet). i got some new cute pictures of her yesterday (the REAL reason for this post!).

brooke the hand talker

we noticed this weekend that brooke is quite a hand talker. she carried on a whole conversation with nobody... all the while talking with her hands. it was very amusing!

and now a new hana-ism :)
one evening at dinner hana asked how to say something in spanish (i totally don't remember what it was). we told her we weren't sure how to say it and then asked why she wanted to know, to which she answered "my new boyfriend at school says a lot of spanish words." nice :)
